Polkadot Indexer – An API released for Polkadot and Kusama Network

Polkadot is one of the popular blockchains of this year. With popularity comes the attention of the developers who wish to integrate the blockchain data in their own projects and use case. To make the data of both the chains ( Polkadot and Kusama Network) more easily accessible, Bison Trails has created a platform API where it allows easy to query structured data. This API is named as Polkadot Indexer.

In past, accessing the blockchain data for both Polkadot and the Kusama network with minimal amount of queries was difficult. After the release of the Polkadot Indexer, the structured data is easy to query and access. All data is now accessible through this single API which makes large structured data affordable to access. What makes this indexer more usable is it takes less amount of the queries to request the data now. This saves a lot of time and efforts to maintain individual indexers on case basis.

Why is Indexer service important?

Indexer service is used in staking, validation, oracles, wallets, exchanges, custody service and many other transaction specific services. So having access to the data in minimal amount of efforts is necessary for developers who build on the top of such data. Apart from this there are 3rd party companies like data analytics and the blockchain aggregator companies who make use of the indexer service for their use.

What this means for Polkadot?

Polkadot is growing rapidly. And more Ethereum projects are migrating to the new blockchain. Any effort of indexer, oracle, validation service and many other blockchain based efforts are appreciated in this ecosystem. Polkadot Indexer only makes polkadot blockchains growth more stronger and it’s scalable efforts more easier to access, through one small step, using data.
